Following on from Mike Cavanagh’s previous in-person workshops and online courses, this online memoir course provides opportunities for you to hone and extend your skills, while providing a base grounding for those just starting out.

Individual tailoring is a keystone for this online course/workshop where we’ll take a flexible approach to ensure you get what you want out of it. If you have completed any of the previous SCWC memoir writing workshops but are seeking more, or to consolidate what you’ve now learned, this course is ideal. But rest assured, even if you’ve never raised pen or hit a keyboard in anger, or joy for that matter, this course will provide you with the tools and motivation you’ll need to make your mark.

This course is focused on the how of writing your memoir: techniques, approaches, getting your prose to ‘speak’, as well as how to distill and refine your story. Suitable for both beginners and intermediate writers, the Go Write Yourself course will ensure the heartbeat of your story is loud and clear.
