Welcome to a 5-day holiday on the Gold Coast. Sit back relax and meet your fellow travellers as we travel through to Urunga where we’ll stop for morning tea at the Anchors Wharf Café, situated right on the Kalang River. We arrive at our hotel later this afternoon where we can settle in for the next 4 nights and relax before dinner.

Day 2 (B) COUNTRY SPIRIT CITY HEART EKKA

The Ekka showcases the best of Queensland, attracting more than 21,000 competition entries from woodchops to giant vegetables, 10,000 animals from beef cattle to cats and dogs, world-class live entertainment, award-winning food and wine, carnival rides and of course showbags, and much more. We spend the full day and into the night here taking in all the atmosphere.

Day 3 (BLD) RIVERS, LAKES AND TROPICAL FRUIT                                                                                Monday 11 August 2025

This morning, we head out with Tweed Endeavour Cruises. We experience the spectacular natural beauty of the Tweed River and Terranora Lakes. At the same time, we revel in the view of the lush sugar cane fields, rural farming land, and wild rainforests abundant in bird life as we meander through the waterways. Next, we arrive at Tropical Fruit World. This agricultural tourist destination is growing the world's largest range of tropical and rare fruit. The plantation grows more than 500 kinds of tropical fruit and nuts. We have lunch here and afterward, we have the chance to see, touch, and taste some of the most exotic fruits in the world. Finally, this afternoon, we cross the border and have time to freshen up before dinner in the hotel.

Day 4 (BLD) GOLD COAST AND THE AUSTRALIAN OUTBACK SPECTACULAR Tuesday 12 August 2025

Today we visit Skypoint – the highest point above the Gold Coast skyline! We’ll take one of the fastest elevators in the world (42.8 seconds to be precise) to the 77th floor. Here we can take in the brilliant views of the surf and hinterland from the observation deck. There is a café here where you may want to purchase a morning coffee. Next, we set sail on the waters of the Gold Coast’s lovely canals for a delightful lunch cruise with Sea World Cruises. Views from both the deck and the large windows will highlight the Gold Coast’s magnificent homes of the rich and famous, the glittering waters of the Gold Coast Broadwater, and other renowned locations. Our day ends spectacularly as we leave the hotel and make our way to the Australian Outback Spectacular. Before we settle in for the show, we are taken on a behind-the-scenes tour of Australia’s number one world-class live theatrical production. There is no place on earth like the Australian Outback and no show on earth like the Australian Outback Spectacular show called Heartland. Enjoy the all-new story with true Australian characters, Reg and Marge, who are battling a severe five-year drought on their farm. This heart-touching story will resonate with many as it delves into real-world struggles that many Aussie farmers are dealing with today. What a wonderful holiday we have had travelling with friends and making new ones along the way. Today we head for home arriving late afternoon with many wonderful memories of our holiday on the Gold Coast.
