Gold Coast Longsword Development Cup 2025
Event description
The Gold Coast Longsword Development Cup offers an chance to test your skills in a supportive environment, with plenty of opportunities to gain tournament experience without the pressure of elite-level competitors.
This event will feature a mix of competitive bouts and a few “bonus fights” throughout the day to add an extra challenge for participants. It's the perfect opportunity to fence against some new faces, increase your skills, and aim for the top spot without the usual sharks in the pool.
We’re aiming fencers with less than two years of experience, though this isn’t a strict rule. The focus is on providing a competition for developing fencers rather than seasoned veterans.
Initially hoping for 16 participants (with room to expand if demand allows), the tournament promises lots of matches for everyone. (If we exceed capacity, priority may be given to those with less tournament or fencing experience, in which case we will let you know, but its unlikely)
Entry is just $30, and while results won’t count toward HEMA Ratings or the Australian Historical Fencing League, this is a great opportunity to showcase your progress, meet fellow fencers, and have some fun.
We can’t wait to see you on the day. Prepare your gear, sharpen your skills, and get ready to fight!
Rules and equipment: Sword Fighter Standard rules, based on closely on the HFA rules and equipment standards.
