GOLDEN SOUND- Live from the Kennel

The latest in an ongoing series of live recording sessions held inside or outside The Kennel, Browndog Productions’ film studio in Paddington, Brisbane. The last session featuring Kooii sold out.

Golden Sound brings its distinctive feel-good, very fat funk to The Kennel. Set within the studio’s leafy rainforest surrounds, the evening promises driving rhythms, cosmic synthesisers and plenty of reasons to meet on the dance floor.

Inspired by the raw energy of James Brown, Golden Sound pairs deep funk grooves with warm analogue textures, space-disco flourishes and smooth, soulful vocals. At the centre is Peter G, a unique and highly admired familiar presence in Brisbane’s music scene whose performances are built around connection, movement and good times.

Over the past 15 years, Peter G and Golden Sound have entertained audiences throughout Australia, including appearances at Woodford Folk Festival, Island Vibe and Brisbane Festival. Their regular performances at Felons Barrel Hall, The Alligator Club and Brooklyn Standard have established the band as dependable purveyors of the funk. They are also the only ever band to have been Woodford’s Pineapple Lounge’s house band, twice.

Appearing in full-band mode for this rare performance, Golden Sound will also welcome special guests and musical collaborators throughout the evening. Expect a generous serving of their signature sound and come ready to dance.
