Breakfasts for Local Kids

Good Food, Bright Minds is a community led breakfast initiative created in collaboration between Cafe Queen Waiuku and Sanctuary Retreat.

Every Monday morning during the school term, local children are welcomed into the café between 7am and 9am for a nourishing cooked breakfast before school. More than just a meal, this initiative is about creating a sense of care, connection, warmth, and belonging for young people in our community.

Children are offered a safe and welcoming environment where they can begin the day feeling seen, supported, and fed emotionally as well as physically. A full breakfast, kind conversation, and a calm start to the morning can make a meaningful difference to a child’s wellbeing, concentration, confidence, and ability to learn.

This initiative has grown through the generosity of local businesses, community members, and everyday people who simply want to help. Every donation contributes directly toward food, café costs, and supporting the continuation of these Monday morning breakfasts.
