Join us for two days of Indigenous music, community, learning, and creativity at the Good Medicine Indigenous Music Festival, featuring an all-Indigenous lineup of composers and artists alongside local collaborating musicians.

Two-Day Festival Passes - Pay What You Can

Festival tickets are offered on a pay-what-you-can basis so that everyone is welcome and cost does not have to be a barrier to attending.

Donations are greatly appreciated and go directly toward supporting Indigenous artists and helping keep the Good Medicine Indigenous Music Festival going. Your support helps us compensate Native composers, musicians, and performers for their time, travel, and artistry while continuing to create space for Indigenous-composed music in Houston.

One festival pass includes admission to both ticketed concerts on Friday, October 2 and Saturday, October 3. Saturday's daytime vendors and community activities are free and open to the public. Masterclasses require a separate RSVP.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 2

Concert featuring the University of Houston Cougar Camerata Symphony Orchestra

Doors open at 6:30 PM
Music begins at 7:00 PM

Experience an evening of Indigenous-composed orchestral, chamber, traditional, contemporary, and experimental music featuring works and performances by artists from across the country.

Every work presented at Good Medicine is Indigenous-composed, with every performance featuring at least one Native artist.

Honoring the past, present, and future of Native music across genres.

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 3 - DAYTIME

Daytime activities are co-hosted by the American Indian Center of Houston.

The festival continues at MATCH Gallery with an intimate evening concert exploring Indigenous music across traditional, classical, contemporary, improvisational, and experimental forms.

Overflow Radio: Šakotayišol Nunuš Constellation Reception | 7:00–8:00 PM

Stay after the concert for the reception immediately following the performance.

ABOUT GOOD MEDICINE

The Good Medicine Indigenous Music Festival celebrates the depth, diversity, and future of Native music through an Indigenous-led gathering of composers, musicians, performers, and community.

This year's featured artists include Connor Chee (Diné), Sage Bond (Diné), Anjelica Lindsey (Cherokee Nation), Michael Begay (Diné), Lara Lignitz (Cherokee Nation), and festival founder Aryn Ward (Mvskoke/Yuchi), performing alongside her four Mvskoke/Yuchi children and collaborating local musicians.

Across two days, audiences will experience music spanning Mvskoke and Yuchi traditional songs, classical and orchestral music, contemporary composition, metal, improvisation, and experimental work.

Good Medicine honors what Indigenous music has been, what it is today, and what it can become by creating space for cultural continuity, language preservation, new artistic expression, and connection between Native artists and audiences.
