Good Sports Liquor Licence Seminar Session 1 - Mount Alexander Shire
Event description
You're invited to the Good Sports Club Liquor Licence online seminar – approved by Liquor Control Victoria (LCV).
This session is an alternative to the new entrant training for restricted club or renewable limited club licence applicants, or as a knowledge refresher for licensed clubs. It's for club committee members and volunteers in Mount Alexander Shire responsible for serving liquor.
This course is to be completed alongside the Good Sports Club Culture and Wellbeing Forum on August 19th in Castlemaine. Certificates will be provided after session 2 is completed – register here.
All members of the club are welcome to join both as we encourage parents, coaches and members to attend and learn how they can contribute to club development and understanding of liquor licensing.
The session will cover:
- Understanding your Liquor Licence
- Your legal responsibilities
- Club rules
- Duty of care/server liability
- Underage issues
- Intoxication
- 'Signing in' requirements
- Non-member functions/Limited Licences.
Benefits of attending:
- Greater awareness of legal requirements
- Increased confidence in handling licencing issues
- Enhanced knowledge of issues around risky alcohol use in the club environment.
This event is free but registration is essential.
Important note: This is not an RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) course.
