Brunch @ Hope St Cafe: Social Cohesion π¬
Event description
Based in Brisbane? Keen to meet some great people, while having meaningful conversations and supporting good causes?
βIntroducing Good Talk β a brand new brunch and dinner club series by Humans For Good. We're a diverse community of Aussies who want to turn their good intentions into impact, and do their part to make the world a better place.
With the current state of the world and the uncertainty across our society, it's more important than ever to seek out what brings us together, and how we can cross boundaries and cross-collaborate.
This particular brunch is social cohesion themed, and will be hosted by two members of the HFG community β Joseph, founder of a social enterprise that helps young professionals from refugee and migrant backgrounds, and Felix, cofounder of MindMuse.care which is redefining the approach to ongoing workplace mental wellbeing and psychosocial hazard management.
It will take place at Hope St Cafe, South Brisbane β an inclusive, community focused cafe that offers paid traineeships for people facing barriers to employment, and donates meals to those in social housing (learn more here).

What is Good Talk?
We're a different kind of dinner club. Our daytime and evening events are a chance to get to know a small group of other people who want to have a positive social and environmental impact, while directly supporting the work of a local social enterprise.
βThis looks like β
βGood food: Share a meal at a local social enterprise cafe or restaurant that matches your interests and budget (keep an eye out for all upcoming brunches & dinners here)
βGood causes: Have candid, authentic conversations about big issues, while funding employment opportunities and meals for people who need them
βGood humans: Connect with new, purpose-driven friends and people to collaborate with, in a casual and relaxed space β versus the classic office or networking environment
What's included in your $20 ticket?
A seat at the table with new connections and meaningful conversation with a small, curated group of good humans in your city
Two meals that are donated to families facing hunger in conflict zones, including Gaza, through the UN World Food Programme
Support for your host from Humans For Good, who makes the event possible and is there to guide the night
βA Whatsapp group chat before and after the event to stay connected
βHumans For Good operational costs, so that we can sustain these events and have the biggest collective impact possible
Whatβs not included?
Food and drinks β βyou are welcome to order and pay directly for any coffee and food that you would like (between around $5 - $25). Both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options are available, and make sure to let us know if you have any other dietary requirements
Your hosts for the day
Hosts are there to create good vibes, facilitate good convos, and answer any of your questions on the day.
This Good Talk brunch is co-hosted by two Humans For Good members. Joseph runs an award-winning social enterprise assisting young professionals from refugee and migrant backgrounds to gain greater access to education and employment opportunities via virtual volunteering. He is passionate about connecting people across communities for social causes.
Felix is committed to helping 100,000 people by 2032. Thus far, he has worked in over 9 startups across Australia, Singapore and Indonesia; two of which he cofounded. Currently, Felix is the cofounder of MindMuse.care: redefining the approach to ongoing workplace mental wellbeing and psychosocial hazard management, all within just a few clicks.
If you're running late or have any questions before the event, please feel free to shoot Joseph a message on 0497 615 717 or Felix on 0481 322 948 β or ask it to the Whatsapp group which you'll be added to!

Good Talk guidelines
During the event, please keep in mind that our hosts are not trained facilitators or mental health professionals β but community members who are there to share their learnings, and help to guide interesting and inclusive conversations.
A few other things to take note of and put into practice during the event:
Be a good human: we want the Humans For Good community to be a positive and safe space, where members are free to be their full and best selves. Please always demonstrate empathy and kindness toward other members. Check out our full code of conduct here
Listen and learn: Good Talk events are designed to be an inclusive space for anyone who is interested in doing a little more good in the world, so please make an effort to listen to and learn from those with differing perspectives, viewpoints and backgrounds
Share, donβt sell:Β we encourage you to share the great things that youβre working on, but do make sure it is educational or adds value in another way, rather than being sales-y or promotional in nature
Pay it forward: thereβs so much magic in community, and we can achieve even more when we work together. Letβs keep up the collaborative vibes, and co-create a space for us to all contribute, give back and generally support one another as we work toward our goals
