Govardhan Puja - Kirtan, Storytelling & Celebration

Govardhan Puja has been celebrated for thousands of years in temples, towns, villages, communities and homes, with wonderful chanting, dancing and feasting.

Govardhan Puja celebrates the transcendental love and protection that the Supreme Soul, Krishna, offers to everyone. It reminds us that Krishna is perfectly capable of lifting the burdens we carry on our shoulders and in our hearts. In the Bhagavad Gita, Krishna tells Arjuna, and all of us, “Do not fear, I will give you all protection.”

This promise is wonderfully brought to life in the famous pastime of Govardhan Puja, one of the most celebrated pastimes of Lord Sri Krishna. When devastating rainfall threatened the people of Vrindavan, Krishna lifted Govardhan Hill with one hand, holding it aloft like a giant umbrella to shelter His dear friends and the entire village community from the torrential rain.

Bring your friends and family and experience the magic of this most sacred occasion for yourself. All welcome!

Yoga Philosophy on Bhagavan Sri Krishna

According to the teachings of Yoga, Bhagavan Sri Krishna is the Supreme Person, the cause of all causes, the reservoir of spiritual love and our eternal best friend.

Krishna appears in His original transcendental form to make it possible for us to meditate upon Him and re-establish our loving relationship with Him. This relationship is the source of all happiness and satisfaction and, in fact, the real meaning of the word “Yoga”.

Krishna's advent in this world is an extension of His love and an invitation for us all to experience the deeper love and connection our hearts yearn for. Through the practice of kirtan meditation, pure spiritual love is awakened in our hearts, allowing us to experience an ocean of love and a deep sense of union with our Supreme friend.
