GOVERNANCE MATTERS #3: The strategic leadership role of the Board and the importance of a strategic plan
Event description
GOVERNANCE MATTERS is a series of 10 sessions on zoom presented by Carol Scholes of Overview Effect; each session has a different topic to do with governance matters. The series, which is FREE, and held in the early evenings, focuses on governance principles for boards or committees of NFP organisations in New Zealand.
There will be an opportunity to ask questions in these sessions as well.
Many volunteer members of committees or boards struggle to find the time to develop their skills in governance or have topics they would like to explore further but can’t devote a whole or half day to attending a workshop. These workshops are designed to be delivered in 1-1.5-hour sessions on very specific topics. Participants can attend one or more as needed.
TOPIC: The strategic leadership role and the importance of a strategic plan.
This workshop explores the strategic leadership role of committees and boards. Discover what the board should talk about in their strategic role and how to lead your organisation to be forward focused and proactive with a clear strategy not just putting out the bush fires as they erupt.
