Event description
Join us in the gallery foyer for creativity and fun!
Our relaxed and engaging sessions are for children aged 3-5 years and their carers. Guided art-making activities are suited to children aged 3-5, while younger children can create artworks or enjoy sensory play, story time, and the exhibition tour.
Each session is based on a current exhibition and uses creative play to develop imagination and skills.
Upcoming Sessions:
- February 5: Explore the world of art-making through movement and dance. We’ll look at the exhibition Vestiges by Emily-Sarah Boldeman, where children will use mixed media to create artworks through expressive gestures and experimental mark-making.
- March 5: Come and create memories together in this session, where we’ll make souvenir sculptures inspired by historic times and places. We’ll be inspired by the artworks of Dawn Walker in her exhibition Porcelain Places.
- April 2: Enter the world of Margaret Olley and explore the recreation of Olley’s home studio in the Margaret Olley Art Centre. We will make and play with still life objects as children create their very own Yellow Room diorama.
- May 7: In this session, we will experiment and play with different materials and textures to create artworks inspired by the works of Tamara Mendels. Children will explore colour and shape to create wild and wonderfully 3D sculptures in polymer plasticine, as well as 2D mixed media artworks.
Join us for one or more sessions! Book your tickets and mark your calendars for a creative and playful experience!
