GR Sings: A One Day Choir Event

Join us for an afternoon of musical community with the inaugural One Day Choir of GR Sings!

WHAT TO EXPECT:

After you register and before the event we'll be sending out recordings and sheet music so that you can familiarize yourself with the songs before we come together. There is no expectation that you will have anything memorized, but we want you to have all the tools to engage as fully as you want to with the songs and so that we can spend our time together in creativity and community.

There is no cost for the event and we welcome all who want to participate. Whether you're coming to see the power of music in connection, you have something inside of you that you want to express, or you want to support others in connection and expression, as long as you can sustain the attention, you are welcome. 

Our meeting place for the event is The Vine on the first floor of First Place at 207 East Fulton. It is accessible for all abilities. 

THE DAY OF THE EVENT:

After a time of introduction, we'll discover ways to share musical space through activities led by the fabulous group facilitators of GR Sings!. 

When we have completed our warm up activities, we'll learn a couple of songs together using sheet music, recordings and each other. You are welcome whether you are an experienced singer who performs with choirs or someone who loves singing along to your favorite song in the shower.

After we've spent some time finding the harmonies of our voices, we'll sing our songs with and for each other. We'll engage in participation instead of performance, offering each other support, laughter, connection, and our music.

MEDIA CONSENT:

We'll be taking photos and videos during our time together to share and invite others to join us for future GR Sings! events. By registering, you give your consent to be photographed and video recorded.

DONATIONS:

Please consider donating to help in covering costs for materials, rental, and potential childcare for attendees. A suggested donation of $20 will help considerably with creating a sustainable and repeatable experience.
