    Event description

For 15 years our Environment team and local volunteers have worked together to tackle the invasive Pink Gladiolus (Gladi) weed from our natural bushland areas.

Once again, we're on the lookout for volunteers to get involved and help us remove the flowering Gladi weed from Signal Hill Bushland.

You'll have the opportunity to safely explore and learn about the bushland, while helping to protect it one Gladi at a time.

Volunteer spots are limited - so get in quick!

For questions or enquiries, please contact our Environment team on environment@belmont.wa.gov.au

All Grab a Gladi Day participants will need to complete the Volunteer Registration Questionnaire included in their Humanitix ticket registration.

Children under the age of 16 years need to be supervised by a parent/guardian.

    What is Pink Gladiolus?

The Gladioli have very pretty pink flowers, but looks can be deceiving! This South African weed was introduced to Perth via household gardens.

It can reproduce in two ways, via seed and by corms (bulb-like roots). This makes this weed highly invasive in our natural areas because it takes up vital nutrients, space, and light for our native species.
