Working to develop new skills and achieve your career aspirations is why most of us go to University. But how do we continue to learn after we graduate? Many of us continue to learn through mentoring programs and our networks, as well as the fantastic fellowships and programs designed to get us startup ready! In this tell-all event, we’ll share how you can leverage these avenues for your career.
We’ll also explore how you can land that graduate role. Hear about the orthodox avenues - internships, graduate placements - through to the less orthodox ways, to land a job with a startup. And let’s not forget about the true-grit you’ll need to land that opportunity in a startup.
No matter how you get to the role of your dreams, there are skills - hard and soft - that will assist the process.

Inder Singh, General Assembly Graduate, Consult eXperts - Inder is co-founder and Chief Talent Officer at Consult eXperts an online talent marketplace platform that connects companies with growth expertise.
Inder has helped startups and teams scale through interstate and international expansion. He has worked with startup accelerators, performed due diligence and provided sales consultancy, talent management and training. He brings over 20 years of experience in leading global sales teams in technology and talent management in achieving over $10B in revenue. Inder has led a number of workplace diversity initiatives, in improving the talent pipeline for women, the culturally and linguistically diverse and for people with disabilities.
Daisy Johnson, Startmate Fellowship, Marketing Coordinator, Baraja (LiDAR) - Daisy Johnson is the Marketing Coordinator at Baraja, a deep technology startup that has reinvented LiDAR for self-driving vehicles. She recently completed the Startmate Autumn 2021 Fellowship program, a selective program for women who want to work in the startup community. Daisy started her career in advertising, most recently working as an account manager at M&C Saatchi on the agency's largest account, Woolworths. She is currently undertaking a Graduate Certificate in Digital Innovation via the MBA program at UNSW AGSM.
Facilitated by Jed Gladwin StraightUp - Jed is the Founder of StraightUp - a fast-growing technology consulting & recruitment company in Melbourne. Jed bootstrapped StraightUp in 2020 at the age of 25 and saw it achieve over $1M revenue in its first year of business. He is passionate about Cyber Security in particular and has led several community initiatives including Cyber Volunteers Australia which received AISA's 'Outreach Program of the Year' award in 2020. Jed volunteers in his free time working with university students, organising tech Meetups and various other community initiatives. Despite being from London, he is not particularly fond of football or tea!
