Event description

Join us for a great night of sharing conversation over a lovely meal. Dr Kate O'Shaughnessy will be the guest speaker.  Kate is a distinguished leader in Indo-Pacific affairs, currently heading the Perth USAsia Centre’s research programs across the region. With a PhD in Indonesian history from the University of Western Australia, and fluency in both Indonesian and French, she blends academic insight with 16 years of public service at Australia’s Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Her career has spanned high-level policy development, intelligence analysis, and diplomatic service in Ghana, Lebanon, France, and Nigeria. Most recently, she served as Australia’s High Commissioner to Mauritius and Seychelles, and Ambassador to Madagascar and Comoros, advocating Australia’s Indo-Pacific vision across the western Indian Ocean.
