Come along! Celebrate the local premiere of the new documentary film 'Grandma's House', by Holly Trenaman. Enjoy a screening of two local films, both fully set in and shot in Coledale, followed by a short Q&A with the Coledale-local filmmaker, Holly Trenaman.
GRANDMA'S HOUSE
Grandma's House is a 19 minute documentary, shot originally in 2018, then post-produced entirely by crew who met as Screen Illawarra members.
Synopsis: Home is a feeling. And everyone felt at home at Grandma's House. In the old town of Coledale. The old Aussie way. But after 50 years of raising their children and grandchildren there, they sold. This is my grandma's story.

DATING VIOLET
Dating Violet is a 12 minute short film made independently by a group of student filmmakers from AFTRS, and local filmmakers, after graduating from film school in 2020.
Synopsis: When Violet gets dumped by her boyfriend, and dumped again in the surf, Violet feels dumped by life. She gets through her first break-up with the help of the surf, while learning that young love is like the tides - high and low.

All funds raised will go towards the costs involved in the distribution of the recently completed documentary film 'Grandma's House'.
There will also be a table set up to sell shell artwork, by Holly's grandma - the local legend - Gay Cahill, which is featured in the documentary, and can be seen on Instagram at @coledaleshellartt, and will be available for sale on the night.
