Grant Writing and Equity Crowd Funding
Join us for a training & networking session focusing on grant writing and setting up an equity crowd funding campaign for your impact business.
Hear from grant experts who will advise you on the following:
· How Covid as effected applications and grants
· What extra information to include and exclude
· Relationships with donors
· Key writing skills
· Report writing and measuring impact
In addition, we will be discussing how to raise funds through Equity Crowdfunding with Kate from Pledge Me. Learn the following
· Overview of the three types of crowdfunding
· How to raise capital without a full prospectus
· Writing up your campaign
· Examples of successful and unsuccessful campaigns & WHY
· The risks and pitfalls
· How to work with shareholders afterwards
Our panel will consist of:
Bronwyn Walters from Department of Internal Affairs
Bronwyn Walters is a Community Advisor at the Department of Internal Affairs. She works to inform, upskill, support, and resource communities, hapū and iwi. Before joining Internal Affairs she was a project manager for non-profits in Auckland and the UK. Her background is in post-16 literacy education and community development. She lives in West Auckland with her kids, cat and husband.
Connie Lee, Engagement Advisor - Foundation North
Connie joined Foundation North in May 2016 and was most recently a Community Advisor with the Department of Internal Affairs. She brings a wealth of experience having worked both in the public and private sector. Connie is well connected to her community in the North Shore through various committee roles and is an avid badminton player. Born and raised in Auckland, she graduated from Auckland University with a both a bachelor’s degree and a Post-grad diploma in Science. Connie is fluent in English and Cantonese, and is currently learning Mandarin.
Kate Wightman, Delivery Support - Pledge Me
Kate has a wealth of experience working in the startup and investment space. Working with over-ambitious founders is her secret passion and she loves wheeling (and dealing). By that we mean she spends every spare minute cycling about on two wheels!
