Great North Coast Trail – Stakeholder Feasibility Workshops
As you may be aware, Destination North Coast was successful in our application with the Department of Regional NSW’s Business Case and Strategy Development Fund to assess the Viability of Development of a Great North Coast Trail, stretching from the Newcastle to the Tweed.
Destination North Coast is pleased to invite you or a representative from your organisation to attend one of four workshops being held in the region to consider the feasibility and potential of the Great North Coast Trail. Workshop location and times are provided below.
We have engaged TRC Tourism, a well-known company that specialises in tourism, trails feasibility assessments and business cases, to complete the study on what the experience may look like, who are the target markets and whether the business case shows it is feasible and economically sound.
To that end, TRC Tourism will facilitate the workshops with the aim of seeking your early views on the opportunities for the proposed Trail, possible alignments, existing product strengths that we can utilise, and also barriers that have be considered. The workshops will be smaller in size allowing participants and the consultants, along with DNC staff to collaboratively understand the vision and opportunity.
MidCoast Workshop – 9.00 - 11.00am, Tuesday, 20 June – Forster Palms Motel
Port Macquarie Workshop – 3.00 - 5.00pm, Tuesday, 20 June – Mercure Centro
Coffs Harbour Workshop – 9.00 - 11.00am, Thursday, 22 June – Pacific Bay Resort, Board Room 2
Byron Bay Workshop – 3.00 - 5.00pm, Thursday, 22 June – Byron Community Centre, Wategos 1
