GNCCF takes place at Victoria Baths, Hathersage Road, Manchester M13 0FE. This is about 5-10 mins drive out of the city centre, near the Royal Manchester Children's Hospital. The event is AA signposted but you can also follow the brown tourist signs for Victoria Baths. By Car Sat Nav M13 0FE. Parking You can park on Hathersage Road and neighbouring roads subject to normal on-street parking regulations. Please note some residential streets are permit parking only - check the signs. We advise parking in the Q car park on Hathersage Road sat nav M13 0JQ; it is a ten minute walk from here. Blue Badge holders may park directly in front of the building or in the rear car park where you will be directed by a Car Park Steward. Do not to park on Pax Road at the side of Victoria Baths, as this is private land and you may be issued with a parking ticket. By Bus Nearest Bus Stop is the 50 which runs from Manchester City Centre. Get off just after the crossroads of Upper Brook Street and Hathersage Road. Walk east along Hathersage Road to the Baths (5 minutes). Other buses from Piccadilly Gardens include the 41, 44, 48, 192. By Train From Piccadilly Station Catch the 192 from the stop on London Road near the Fairfield Street entrance and get off opposite Plymouth Grove West. Walk down Plymouth Grove West and Hathersage Road (approx 1/2 mile). Alternatively, you can catch a taxi from the train station (Fairfield Street entrance). From Oxford Road Station Catch any of the buses heading south out of town on Oxford Road numbered 41, 44, 48 or 147. Get off opposite Whitworth Park, next to St Mary’s Hospital, (after MCR Royal Infirmary). Walk down Hathersage Road in front of St Mary’s Hospital, crossing over traffic lights. It is about 1/2 mile to the Baths from the bus stop. From Victoria Station Take the MetroLink tram* to either Piccadilly Station and continue as described above or to St Peter’s square and catch a number 50 bus. *You can travel free on Metrolink trams in the city zone if you have bought a rail ticket for travel from any Greater Manchester station to Piccadilly, Victoria, Deansgate or Oxford Road. Your rail tickets should show Manchester CTLZ as its destination and applies to most tickets.
Entry instructions
Entrance is via the ramped access at the front of the building on Hathersage Road. Mobility scooters - we can only accommodate small motorised scooters of the type that can fold down in the boot of a car. Large scooters will not handle some tight corner turns and are unsuitable for our access lifts into the pool exhibition area - they don't have enough of a turning circle. For those using scooters or wheelchairs please note as an old building there are some uneven surfaces and floors can camber at the side of the pools, and tiled sloped floors in Pool A and C.
After entry instructions
The venue is only accessible on the ground floor. There is no lift to access the upstairs exhibitors. There are hand operated lifts into the two of the pools A and C where exhibitor stands are. You wheel straight onto the lifts and then have to turn your scooter of wheelchair through 90 degrees to exit. A a result large motorised scooters are not suitable as they don't have the turning circle. Only wheelchairs and small scooters that can fit in the boot of a car are suitable for these lifts. For those using scooters or wheelchairs please note as an old building there are some uneven surfaces and floors can camber at the side of the pools, and there are tiled sloped floors in Pool A and C. Pool B is flat and easily accessible with ramped entrances and exits. The cafe is accessible and on a level floor. There is an internal accessible toilet and a temporary accessible Portaloo accessed by a rear ramp along with male, female and inclusive toilets both internally and in the external Portaloo park.
Hazards
Victoria Baths is a grade 2 listed building and has uneven floors, slight cambered floors pool side and tiled sloped pools. There is ramped access at the front and rear. There is no lift so disabled visitors cannot access the upstairs exhibitors. If there is a particular exhibitor whose work you would like to see, we can arrange to video their stand and bring work down to you to look with no obligation to buy. All exhibitors' stand locations are listed on our website. If this service is of interest please speak to Leanne on the reception desk when you arrive or book in advance by calling Victoria and we will arrange this for you. There is stepped access down into Pools A and C, where there are exhibitor stands.. There are steward operated wheel chair lifts into pools A and C. Toilet location
There is an internal accessible toilet at the rear of Pool B and a temporary accessible Portaloo accessed by a ramp from the rear of Pool A. Inclusive toilets are at the rear of Pool A.
