Great Southern Bioblitz Billy Goat Hill - Cowra

Would you like to explore the local plants and animals up at Billy Goat Hill Cowra? The Billy Goat Hill appreciation Society are taking part in this years Great southern bioblitz and we need your help to record and identify as many species as possible up on the hill. It's a great opportunity to get outside and explore this area as well as contributing to citizen science at a large scale.

The Great Southern Bioblitz is a citizen science census running from September 20-23rd.  The census is open to everyone and can be joined by downloading the iNaturalist app onto your phone, creating an account and then uploading the flora and fauna you see during the study period.

We can help you navigate the app and get a start on the process of identifying what's observed on the day. Once you are set up and know how to use the app you can then use it at anytime. In your garden, on your farm, on a bushwalk or in your own local park. Everything you record helps to understand more about the region we live in.

Once you are registered we will send out the details on how to download and set up the app which you can do prior to the event or we can help you do it on the day.

Please bring along your lunch and a picnic rug/chair, sun/rain protection, water & closed in shoes.
