    Event description

Join Springfield Lakes Nature Care to do a bioblitz on Opossum Creek nocturnal creatures, including bats, owls, moths, possums, wallabies and other animals that emerge after dark.  Participants will need a torch or a headlamp & wear comfortable closed in walking shoes, long sleeved shirts and long trousers to protect from mosquitoes or apply insect repellent.  We will do a short talk about animals and walk a flat section adjacent to the creek along Louise Clews Walkway and return to Opossum Creek Parkland for refreshments, Tea Coffee or Hot Chocolate, cake/sandwich and check out the Mothlight Trap that we have set up to see what moths have been attracted to our science experiment. We will be uploading all images onto iNaturalist to document our findings during the Great Southern Bioblitz 4 day survey.

Don't forget to bring your smartphone or camera so you can take photos of items you see or hear during the walk.

Please upload the iNaturalist free app if you wish to include your images in the Great Southern Bioblitz survey. Please click in the project link below, to  join the project & enable you to upload your images.
