Great Southern Women's Adventure Network - Intro to Trail Running

Building upon the success of our women's bushwalking programs, Outdoors Great Southern with support from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries, is proud to announce the launch of our Great Southern Women's Adventure Network (GSWAN).
Designed to give women across the region a chance to participate in outdoor recreation programs in a safe, supported and fun environment, our 2022 series kicks off with TRAIL RUNNING!
Have you ever wanted to try trail running? Are you a road runner looking for a change of scenery or are you brand new to the sport and just want to see what all the fuss is about?
Come and join like-minded women for an introductory trail running experience in Albany/Denmark and surrounds.
Led by experienced trail runners across four weekend sessions spaced a fortnight apart, you will learn:
- how trail running differs to road running;
- measures for personal and group safety;
- what equipment is needed;
- how to avoid injury and overtraining;
- positive mental strategies;
- navigation and map reading; and
- much more!
The only prerequisite is that you are able to comfortably walk 3-5km on uneven terrain and have an interest in learning to run off-road! This event is for adults aged 18+.
