Green Drinks: Can We Feed Ourselves?
Event description
Green Drinks: Can We Feed Ourselves?
🌱 Can we really feed ourselves? Right here in our own backyard?
🌍 With rising food costs, climate disruption, and supply chain shakiness, it’s time for a kōrero about local food systems that work—for people and planet.
🚡  Join us at the top of the Skyline Gondola for a big-picture conversation with local legends who are digging deep into regenerative growing, community resilience, and circular food systems—including how we can turn food waste into a resource rather than a problem.
Meet our panel:
-
Monique Kelly, co-founder of Wao Aotearoa—systems shifter, food resilience advocate, and all-round sustainability powerhouse.
-
Mikey Dahlstrom, tattooed market gardener at Millbrook—gardening with 90 chickens, a kombucha rose patch, and zero spray.
-
Mike Lowther, from Love & Status—high country grower, sustainable landscaper, and passionate advocate for hands-in-the-soil solutions.Â
Your $10 ticket includes:
-
A drink thanks to the legends at Canyon Brewing
-
A Skyline gondola ride (yep, your ticket gets you up the hill!)
-
Nibbles provided by Skyline Queenstown
🌿 Whether you're a seasoned grower or just wondering where your dinner came from—we’ll unpack how to build stronger food systems from the ground up, including practical ways to reduce food waste and close the loop.
🍷 And of course, it wouldn’t be Green Drinks without time for a mingle, a toast, and some inspiration.
📅 Thursday 22nd May – 7:00pm–8:30pm – Skyline Queenstown, Brecon Street
