Kath Irvine of Edible Backyard fame and Bena Denton from Greenbridge are two inspiring wāhine with extensive experience in the sphere of permaculture and regenerative practice. Join them as they co-deliver three great workshops.
Session 1: Humming Veggie Gardens 31 Oct 9am-11.30am (Fri)
A hands-on workshop packed with tips from years of growing food, working in permaculture, and experience in regenerative design. You’ll learn how to lay out a productive veggie garden by choosing the best site, bed type, and greenhouse setup for your space. Plus, get practical advice on building soil health and keeping your garden thriving without store-bought inputs.
Session 2: Thriving Orchards & Food Forests 31 Oct 12pm-2.30pm (Fri)
Healthy orchards made simple. Take home tips for matching the right fruit tree to the right spot, how to create self-sustaining food forests, and the ins and outs of growing nutrients onsite. Learn how to measure vigour and health of your trees, and use the infor to guide tree care.
Session 3: Low-maintenance Lifestyle Blocks 31 Oct 3pm-5.30pm (Fri)
Learn how to lay out a lifestyle block for low maintenance, maximum yield and joy. Tips on shelter species, firewood lots, swales, regen grazing and more. Lessen the workload and boost fertility with chop and drop, ramial woodchip and bucket wormfarms, giving you the most bang for your buck.
