GreenHomeNYC Bike Tour - Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway and Naval Cemetery Landscape
Event description
What does infrastructure for people and the environment look like?
This GreenHomeNYC bike tour of the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway explores the infrastructure and initiatives that support low-impact transportation. Championed by Brooklyn Greenway Initiative (BGI), the Brooklyn Waterfront Greenway Implementation Plan is a 14-mile project to develop a connected greenway along the northern and western Brooklyn Waterfront. It is part of a larger NYC Department of Transportation plan to develop a 29-mile landscaped route for pedestrians and cyclists. More than a series of bike lanes, the greenway connects people and open spaces, promotes green space and resiliency, and provides a safe connection to public transportation.
The tour includes an exciting stop at the Naval Cemetery Landscape, where a BGI affiliate will meet with us to tour the wildlife habitat.
