Event description

Visit the new Greening Dams demonstration site in Arawata, plus learn how farm dams can provide habitat for frogs!

Join this free event to learn more about the benefits of enhancing your farm dam, for water quality and stock health, and also for wildlife.

Wetland Ecologist David Carew will discuss which plant species to use and how  you can create spaces that attract and support aquatic life (including frogs!). 

Deakin Uni student Mica McCulloch will present preliminary findings on water testing done in farm dams in South Gippsland 

Property owner Patrick will share his dam case study project activities, including propagating species for revegetation. We’ll visit the farm to see what’s been done, and hear from David about his advice for landholders on how to  enhance their farm dams.

Lunch and refreshments included

The Project, which is funded by Food & Fibre Gippsland through the Victoria Drought Resilience Adoption and Innovation Hub. This the second round of this project. The full case study from round one can be read here.
