Greenpeace Bush Care Day
Event description
It's Greenpeace Day on 15 September & this is a great day to be inspired by everything that has to do with helping to save & preserve the planet! Springfield Lakes Nature Care Inc. has a Bushcare Site on Opossum Creek that is gradually being rehabilitated from a weed infested riparian zone to improve the habitat for native fauna. Volunteers are immersed in the sounds of nature from whipbirds, cockatoos, kookaburras & butterflies whilst working in shady conditions beside Opossum Creek in Brookwater. At "Tools Down" we take a break for morning tea, fruit muffins & chat. Participants are given a short induction about the particular task we are doing each month, which ranges from removing tree guards, cut & painting Lantana, Devil's Fig & Wild Tobacco trees or removing weeds by digging or handpulling.
So if you enjoy being in the outdoors & doing something good for the environment, please join Springfield Lakes Nature Care Inc (a Landcare group) in rehabilitating Opossum Creek for future generations.
