Grief Garments Info Session
Event description
Grief Garments transform the clothing of those who have died into powerful, worn memorials, keeping their memory
close. Our workshop offers creative expression and fosters community connection through shared stories of grief and
loss.
Our pilot workshop is generously funded by the Proveda Foundation, with support from Tender Funerals Western Sydney. Our pilot is designed to work specifically with people bereaved by suicide and will take place in North Sydney
We're looking for people who are
-Bereaved by suicide
-Own a garment that belonged to their person.
-Available to attend 2 in-person events in North Sydney. A Maker session in August and Exhibition launch on Suicide Prevention Day, September 10
-You DON'T need to be creative, or have sewing or making skills
This session will introduce you to
Who we are as facilitators, what the project is about, where it has come from, and why we are starting with suicide bereavement. We will show some examples of transformations that might be feasible, how to apply to be a maker and what's required. Then we’ll hand it over to you for any questions.
Watch our INTRODUCTION VIDEO for more background on who we are.
