Chances are someone we know will one day need to talk to us about something that’s gone wrong in their life.
And what they don’t need from us is our advice or our attempts to take their mind off it and cheer them up.
What actually helps is our empathy, but often we don’t know how to go about it. You’ll learn how empathy sounds, especially in contrast to responses which aim to fix grief or avoid someone’s real feelings.
Using plain speaking, there’ll be plenty of examples to practice and give you confidence.
This community education session is proudly delivered by local funeral homes - White Lady Funerals, George Hartnett Metropolitan and Guardian Plan in conjunction with Friendly Corner, and activity of Caboolture Region Uniting Church.
