GRIEVING WHOLE

In escalating times of ongoing severance from land, from lineage, and from one another, we can orient to a cosmology of belonging to strengthen our collective response.

When we honor our inner-ache as a part of the whole, we can alchemize unrest, fear, and rage towards the returning and unfolding of a world of gifts, of interdependence, of belonging.

Grief that is whole can learn to widen itself. To deepen. To reach across difference, extending kinship. To sing the earth-based wisdom of mutual flourishing.

Grieving Whole is a community cohort for anchoring our vulnerability and our vision within a cosmology of belonging.

An offering for collective heart strengthening.

A container for those looking to offer their deepest ache during this polycrisis towards building relationally — across cultures, across species, across the rupture and severance that empire is imploding through now.

A reclamation of true human nature, answering the call of this time with a rooted belief in our inherent interdependent belonging and strength.

Five sessions, every other Wednesday via Zoom — 5:30-7pm PT.

SESSIONS

• July 15: The Widening, Realizing Larger Circles of Kinship

• July 29: Reaching Across, Cross Cultural and Cross Species Relations

• August 12: The Bridge, Honest Disagreement and Repair

• August 26: Tender Truth, Truth-Telling with Integrity

• September 9: Sovereign Heart, Deepening Spiritual Strength

These sessions are held experientially and communally, holding prayer, anchoring to land, engaging in journaling, simple art/drawing exercises, support from the more-than-human world, group witness, and take-away prompts and exercises to continue integration between our session weeks, for those wanting more practice.

To nurture a community container, this cohort will be capped at 16 spots. A week before we begin, you'll receive the Zoom link for all sessions and a link to join the Cohort Chat Group — an optional space for sharing and integration between sessions.

This is a communal container — those who join together in this space are just as much a part of the experience as the "teachings." Your presence matters here, whether you are quiet or loud, shy or expressive, a "words" person or a "feelings" person. As my elder and teacher Laurence Cole says, “there are no accidental gatherings.” This is a group of kinship. All practices are optional. All are welcomed in witness and deep regard.

In uplifting a community experience of vulnerability, commitment, and presence, there will not be shared recordings of our sessions. Teaching portions may be recorded and shared on Alyx's Ko-fi in the future.

This cohort is for:

• Those who are new to grief work and those who are familiar

• Those drawn to a cosmology of belonging as an answer to polycrisis

• Those called to contribute to a liberation movement that is beyond polarization and blame

• Those looking to deepen integrity and discernment within their own relations

• Those who sense that personal healing alone is not enough, yearning for more collective integration

• People of all backgrounds called to deepen their skills and capacity for wholeness

RECIPROCITY

This work is offered at a three-tier scale of $350, $250, and $175.

The sliding scale exists to honor both financial accessibility and the value of this indigenous-led work.

• $350 — You are financially stable and can be in fuller reciprocity with the gift of this work

• $250 — You are covering your living expenses yet still need to meet this work at an accessibility price

• $175 — You are under-resourced and need a deeper financial accessibility price to join (Scholarship Tier)

Those able to contribute at the higher end are directly supporting the sustainability of this work and making space for kin who cannot.

COHORT TENDER

Alyx Somas is a 2S Native North American of multiple tribal and detribalized peoples. Rooted in life-honoring ancestral teachings, they walk as a Culture Tender, Re-indigenization Practitioner, and Collective Liberationist, guiding communities to re-member our truest human natures and restore relationship with lineage, land, and kinship-based lifeways.

Raised by a family of 200+ kin, Alyx carries the gift of intergenerational belonging — a bone-deep knowing that we are not meant to navigate life alone, that we are wired for community, for ritual, for being witnessed and held. Training to be a Good Elder, their prayer is for worldwide pan-cultural revival and the reimagining of our village interdependence within the ecosystems of modernity.

Alyx is the founder of The Collectivity Project, an indigenous response to polycrisis, genocide, and ecocide — anchored in the truth that we all come from people who gathered around fires storytelling, dancing, and grieving together in medicinal ways.

They are a council member and cultural consultant for Cascadia Song Rise, Stellar Village, Conscious Growth Convergence, Revival Gatherings, Grieving Man, and Temple of Belonging. They offer ceremonies, workshops, consultation, and mentorship in ancestral healing, cross-cultural bridging, grief and initiation work, and belonging-based decolonial systems.
