FAQs
- Why is there a $10 registration fee?
Our cooking workshops are community-led and designed to be accessible to everyone. The $10 registration fee is not intended to generate profit. Instead, it helps us provide a small koha to our facilitators who generously share their time, skills, and cultural knowledge with the community.
The contribution also helps support Viet Hub NZ's Free Kai for Community Programme, which prepares and distributes meals through local community networks and Pātaka Kai.
Where does my $10 go?
Your contribution helps:
Provide a koha for volunteer facilitators
Purchase ingredients and resources for community programmes
Support free meal initiatives for those in need
Enable Viet Hub NZ to continue delivering cultural and educational activities
- Does my registration make a difference?
Absolutely.
Thanks to the support of workshop participants, volunteers, and community partners, Viet Hub NZ and I Love Vietfood have prepared and shared over 200 free meals in 2026 through our community food initiatives.
Every ticket contributes to something bigger than a cooking class. It helps create opportunities for people to learn, connect, share culture, and support others in our community.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
- Why are tickets non-refundable?
As a volunteer-led community organisation, Viet Hub NZ does not offer refunds for workshop registrations.
Once a ticket is purchased, the funds are allocated towards that specific event, including ingredients, venue costs, workshop resources, facilitator koha, and our wider community programmes. Processing refunds would create additional administrative work and costs, which we aim to minimise so that more resources can be directed back into serving the community.
Unlike commercial events, our workshops are not designed to generate profit. The registration fee is a contribution that helps us deliver community cooking programmes, cultural activities, and free kai initiatives for the wider community.
If you are unable to attend, you are welcome to transfer your ticket to a friend or family member. Simply let us know their name and contact details before the event so we can update our attendance list.
Thank you for understanding and for supporting community-led initiatives through Viet Hub NZ and I Love Vietfood.
- Can I transfer my ticket to someone else?
Yes, ticket transfers are welcome if you are unable to attend.
To transfer your ticket, please email us with:
Your ticket details (booking reference or order number)
The new attendee's full name

This allows us to keep the attendee list up to date and ensure the new participant receives any important event information, reminders, or updates leading up to the workshop.
We would greatly appreciate receiving transfer requests at least 72 hours before the event to help us manage registrations and communications smoothly.
Please send transfer requests to hello@viethubnz.org.
