MODULES:
WEEK ONE
DISCOVER YOUR FOUNDATION
Module one will allow students to be welcomed into the space through a guided meditation journey for calm, relaxation and landing their intention. This module provides a foundation for understanding the history, forms and theoretical underpinnings of meditation. Students will be provided explorative mindfulness activities and reflective journal prompts to integrate the skill of, Grounding.
WEEK TWO
DISCOVER YOUR BREATH
Module two explores the science of meditation in addition to the psychological and physiological changes that can take place within as a result of calming the mind. The group will explore a series of Breathing techniques to uncover their unique anchor before being guided through a specially designed meditation to integrate the skill.
WEEK THREE
DISCOVER YOUR MANTRA
Module three will allow students to develop a deeper understanding of how to manage busy thoughts. A grounded and practical approach will be provided to support greater self-compassion, self-love and awareness of the ‘monkey mind’. Each student will discover the power of traditional forms of sound meditation and chants before creating an individualised Mantra.
WEEK FOUR
DISCOVER VISUALISATION
Module Four provides a space for students to explore two facets that comprise Sense of Sight. At the beginning of this module, with gentle guidance, students will explore the notion of the Inner Child. The playful, curious, creative aspect of our being will be uncovered as we mindfully draw and create with presence. In the latter part of this module, students will learn about the Inner Eye and inner vision, before engaging in a powerful guided journey for discovering your sense of visualisation.
WEEK FIVE
DISCOVER COMPASSION AND SELF-AWARENESS
Feelings and emotions are a natural part of our human existence. The Open Awareness technique allows one to cultivate a loving awareness of emotions and to become an observer of our inner world with a sense of compassion. The founders of this technique and their theoretical underpinnings will be investigated before students are provided the space to explore the Open Awareness technique through guided meditation.
WEEK SIX
DISCOVER MINDFUL MOVEMENT
Gentle, subtle and nourishing mindful movement can be a powerful technique to move stagnation, anxiety, or stress within the physical body. This module of study will look at the history of this technique before students are guided through a soft Movement meditation to integrate and open this skill within their practice. A guide will be provided to explore Movement at home in addition to an integrative task to support you in thriving in your unique meditation practice for the future.
WEEK SEVEN
DISCOVER EXPANSION
Wellbeing Arc values our student’s growth and we believe in providing our students time to integrate taught skills. In this final module, students will be provided with the time and space to explore contraindications (challenges that may arise in your future practice), and reflective journal exercises to evaluate, and allow for the unique embodiment of your practice. Students will receive one on one support from Meredith to establish personalised goals related to their ongoing meditation practice.
