Event description
GROUNDED is an event by farmers, for farmers, growers, and those interested in food systems, on farm. Two days of talks, workshops, tastes, book launches, music and more. Hosted on Fat Pig Farm in Southern Tasmania, this is part conference, part food festival, part social event. Prepare to leave inspired, and empowered to make real change on the land you manage, or the food you consume, as we cover everything from the soil up (5th December is World Soil Day!), including talks on nutrient density, cover crops in vineyards, ag-tech, farmer finance, carbon accounting, pathways to market, hemp, biochar and more. 40 talks over the two days. It's a blend of modern knowledge with ancient wisdom - using all the tools we have to look after the world, and its people, better. The ticket includes talks and demonstrations and there will be food from likeminded businesses available to purchase on site, along with wines, beers and other drinks from our Lazy Springtail Bar.
Each day's talks will differ, so the two day pass is ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in the topics. Most speakers will be presenting on both days, to ensure single day pass holders also get the chance to hear them speak. The actual program will be finalised just prior to GROUNDED, but we are putting out draft programs as we get closer to the date.
