Grounded Gathering's were created for people who want a reason to come together. Hosted by Grounded By Designs in collaboration with MOA & co and Pants Off Gin, this relaxed afternoon is designed to be shared. Book a piece, invite the people you want to spend it with, and enjoy time creating, eating, sipping and catching up around a table.
Paint Your Piece is a relaxed, self-directed ceramic painting experience. Choose from the selection of handmade, bisque-fired ceramic pieces such as ornament tags, cups, bowls or plates and decorate it in your own way using underglaze paints, brushes and tools. No experience is needed, just a love of getting creative.
Your painted piece will be clear-glazed and fired, ready for collection before October 18, offering a functional reminder of the time spent together.
Alongside Grounded By Designs, MOA & co plays a key role in each event, offering their warm, creative space and the option to pre-purchase delicious charcuterie boards to enjoy during your session. Thoughtfully prepared using seasonal ingredients, these boards are designed to be shared and enjoyed slowly while you paint.
Joining us for this Spring gathering is Pants Off Gin, a multi-award-winning distillery founded by Jen and Brant, whose gin journey began on a trip to England in 2015. Every bottle is crafted with Australian botanicals and a good dose of Aussie spirit. Your ticket includes three of their gin tasters, each served with tonic, so you can find a new favourite while you paint.
On the day, Pants Off Gin will also have their signature cocktail available to purchase: the Bikini Bottoms, made with Happy Pants gin, lychee liqueur, simple syrup and pineapple juice, $15, served in their signature recyclable cups.
Just next door to MOA & co, you'll find Bloom With Us, a florist doing genuinely good work in the community, offering creative employment and training opportunities for people living with a disability. In the spirit of Spring, they're offering a pre-purchase option for a seasonal posy or bunch to take home, a small way to carry a little more of the season with you, whether that's for your own table or for someone else.
Each Grounded Gathering is seasonally shaped, with subtle shifts in mood, colour and energy across the year. The heart of the experience remains the same: making by hand, sharing space and enjoying the simple pleasure of being together.
Your ticket includes a bisque-fired ceramic piece to paint and decorate, use of underglaze paints, brushes and tools, clear glaze, and firing plus tasters. Pre-book your charcuterie board, dessert board or seasonal blooms to enjoy on the day.

- Do I need any experience with pottery or painting?
Not at all. Paint Your Piece is a relaxed, self-directed session. You’ll be shown where everything is and can explore at your own pace.
- What if I don’t drink alcohol?
No problem. Your ticket includes tastings, but you’re welcome to skip it. MOA & co are happy to accommodate non-alcoholic attendees with tea/coffee/juice on the day, just pop a note in your order to let us know.
- Can I paint extra pieces on the day?
Yes. Extra bisque pieces will be available to purchase on the day if you want to keep creating or make a few more gifts.
- Is there an age limit?
The event is best suited for adults, though teens are welcome if attending with a parent or guardian. Tasting are strictly 18+.
- When will my piece be ready for pick-up?
All pieces will be clear-glazed and fired, ready to collect from Grounded By Designs up to 3 weeks after the event.
- What’s included in my ticket?
One bisque-fired piece to paint, use of paints and tools, clear glaze and firing along with 3 gin tastings.
- Can I come alone or do I need to book as a group?
You’re welcome either way. But we love seeing groups come together and make an afternoon of it.
- Will food be available?
Yes. MOA & co will have charcuterie boards to add on as a pre-purchase option. Perfect for settling in and staying a while.
- What should I wear?
Something comfortable. The activity is low-mess, but you're welcome to bring along an apron or old shirt.
- Is the experience wheelchair accessible?
Yes, MOA & co offer accessible entry and amenities.
