Group Bike Ride from Bairnsdale to Eagle Point
Event description
East Gippsland Active Transport will lead a bike ride from the marshalling point at the old ‘Imperial Hotel’ site at 3 Main St in Bairnsdale along the Mitchell River to Eagle Point overlooking the Gippsland Lakes.
Join in a supported group ride as we ride together with reduced speed limits to Eagle Point, with a return trip on offer for those with the stamina! Prizes, free mechanical assistance and other ride support on offer. Come along with your favourite bike, and usual safety gear including helmet and high visibility clothing.
If you need to hire a bike, we recommend contacting Venture Out (click here) who have some bikes for hire available.
Please register by 15 June 2025.
Route: Ride to Macleod St, past Luckes Fresh Food Market and onto the Paynesville Rd. Groups of about 10 riders will be sent off at short intervals. There will be traffic control to ensure safe crossing of the Paynesville Rd. After 6km on the Paynesville Rd we will turn off onto Old Paynesville Rd and proceed to the Eagle Point Hub.
Reduced speed limits will end at 2pm, so we have plenty of time to complete the return trip!
Meeting Point: 2 Paynesville Rd, Bairnsdale (Butter Factory carpark)
Parking is also available at the Nearby All Abilities Playground and in Macleod St.
