Description

A Secure Base and Safe Haven

Deepening Attachment-Focused Practice

Four-Part Reflective Group Supervision Series | Closed Group | Maximum 4 Participants

Attachment patterns can shape how parents experience relationships, respond to their children's needs, and engage in therapy. They can also influence what happens between therapist and client, including how we respond to vulnerability, connection, dependence, and emotional distress.

This four-part group supervision series is designed for therapists who want to deepen their attachment-focused practice through clinical reflection, case discussion, and exploration of their own use of self in therapy.

What Will We Explore?

Together, we will explore:

  • How to support parents to notice and reflect on their own attachment patterns and schemas.

  • How these patterns can influence parenting, relationships, and the ways parents respond to their own and their children's emotional needs.

  • How attachment patterns may emerge within the therapeutic relationship, including moments of connection, distance, vulnerability, and rupture and repair.

  • How our own attachment patterns, schemas, and emotional responses as clinicians may interact with those of the parents we support.

  • How to use reflective conversations and visual resources to deepen attachment-focused work with parents.

What Makes This Group Different?

The Cups of Wellbeing and Map of Wellbeing, from the Integrated Core Needs Approach, will provide a shared framework for reflection throughout the series.

These visual resources help bring attachment theory into everyday clinical conversations by making core emotional needs, patterns of connection and autonomy, and the impacts of earlier relationships easier to recognise and explore.

For clinicians, they provide a way to reflect on what may be happening within the therapeutic relationship, including how their own attachment patterns and schemas may influence their responses.
