GRoW Buddy Volunteer Training
Event description
About GRoW Buddies Training
The GRoW Buddies Training is a hands-on program designed for people who want to make a real difference in their community by supporting others through nature-based and social wellbeing activities.
Over several sessions in November 2025, you’ll gain:
Practical skills in CPR, basic first aid, and incident response.
Accredited Mental Health First Aid training to confidently support people experiencing distress.
Community development tools to build trust, sustain engagement, and respond safely to trauma.
Peer support foundations that help you care for yourself as well as others.
Provide information to support research and development around green and social referrals in our community.
Why join?
Being a GRoW Buddy is about more than volunteering—it’s about belonging to a team, growing alongside others, and helping create healthier, more connected communities. You don’t need gardening experience—just an open heart, curiosity, and willingness to be part of something bigger.
We’ll look after you.
Each session includes a shared meal, time for reflection, and opportunities to connect with like-minded people. Training is delivered by experienced facilitators, community leaders, and accredited providers.
What makes this training special
Combines evidence-based skills with creative, nature-connected practices.
Builds confidence to walk alongside others on their wellbeing journey.
Grounded in local partnerships with Cooroy Community Garden (CCG) and Pomona Community House (PCH).
