Description

Please note this workshop has been postponed until July/August. We will advise the new date once it has been confirmed.

Sustainability is becoming essential for meeting consumer demand for ecological transparency, helping Australia to meet our national climate targets and draw business value from waste, water and energy reduction.

Join Australia’s Food and Beverage Accelerator (FaBA) to learn how to adopt and implement ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles  for your business. ESG helps in building climate resilience, identifying cost savings in manufacturing and downstream logistics, and boosting your brand’s reputation. Most importantly, it will allow you to deliver on the measures and commitments that stockists and retailers are now requiring from their supply chain.

Key takeaways:

  • Understand the requirements of mandatory sustainability reporting

  • Access tools to help collect and analyse data on your carbon emissions, and

  • Identify the different audiences and formats for communicating your sustainability goals and achievements.

The workshop features presentation and interactive discussion covering climate reporting, the basics of carbon accounting and establishing a carbon footprint, social impacts of your products and processes, and governance structures which will enhance your sustainability strategy.

At the end of this workshop, you will be able to:

  1. Explain the key elements of ESG and their roles in sustainability reporting.

  2. Use tools to define and measure your organisation's carbon emissions.

  3. Identify timelines and requirements for both mandatory and voluntary ESG reporting.

  4. Apply approaches for unlocking ESG value through continuous improvements.

  5. Develop and communicate an effective ESG plan with realistic commitments to sustainability.

How you'll learn:
You'll join a 6-hour in-person workshop spread across a day.

The workshop will introduce common concepts and terminology related to Environmental, Social and Governance reporting and describe how it relates to the sustainability of your business.

You’ll access tools and calculators for estimating the carbon emissions from your operations and explore areas for increasing resource efficiency in energy, water and waste.

Using the workbook, you will record information specific to your business and create actions for data collection ready to implement when you return to your site.

This workshop will be presented in collaboration with FaBA, Australia’s Food and Beverage Accelerator.

Thanks also go to Sunshine Coast Council, Noosa Council, City of Moreton Bay Council, and Regional Development Australia Moreton Bay and Sunshine Coast for their ongoing support of FAN and these workshops.
