Grow the Future
Description
Workshop Overview
Grow the Future is a social enterprise that creates space for young people to grow.
That word grow has a double meaning. The social enterprise grows plants and produces food, and through this, grows the confidence, capacity and connection among 12- 24-year-olds in the Bega Valley..
To communicate the power of this work, the young people of Grow the Future have put together a card game, which simulates the real-world experience of growing veggies regeneratively, in an engaging and accessible way.
In this workshop, Cal Champagne, Founder and CEO of Grow the Future, will be using the cards and the themes from the game to give participants insights into the world of growing veggies, and to pass on some tips and tricks to overcome some of the challenges that all growers face.
This ‘ workshop inside a workshop’ will use the Grow the Future card game as a vehicle to demonstrate just how empowering growing food and plants can be, and through this, highlight the social Impacts that this regional social enterprise is creating by using g this as a vehicle for engaging and empowering young people in the Bega Valley.
