This beginner-friendly class will show you just how easy and rewarding it is to start your own mini edible garden—right from your windowsill, balcony, or kitchen counter. Whether you’re living in an apartment or have a backyard, you’ll leave inspired to add fresh flavour and nutrition to your meals with homegrown greens!

What will you need?
(No need to bring anything to class, but if you want to start at home later, here's what you'll need!)
A small pot, recycled container, or tray
Good-quality potting mix or seed-raising mix
Herb seeds (basil, mint, parsley, etc.) or microgreen seeds (radish, mustard, pea shoots)
Spray bottle or watering can
Access to a sunny windowsill or well-lit spot
Optional: Coconut coir, compost, or vermiculite

Who will be teaching?
Basil Sarguroh (he/him) is an enthusiastic Master's student in tropical biology and a former research biologist. He is a lifelong plant lover with a passion for making the natural world accessible to everyone.
