Growing Fruit Trees (Re-scheduled)


Event description

Growing fruit trees allows you to harvest your own delicious fruit with zero food miles for many years. In this indoor presentation,Ā learn how to grow fruit trees in your own backyard or terrace, including in pots.Ā Expert gardener ScottĀ Hitchins from Werribee Park Heritage Orchard will demonstrate how toĀ prune, shape and plant a young fruit tree, as well as how to sustainablyĀ care for your fruit trees throughout the year.

Please feel free to bring any surplus produce, seeds, cuttings, plants, gardening magazines etc. to swap and share!

Please note that this is an event for Naarm/Melbourne gardeners only. If you live outside this area, please contact your council to find out what free sustainable gardening events are available locally.Ā 

This venue is wheelchair accessible.Ā If you have any access or support questions orĀ requirements in order to participate fully (eg. interpreter), please let us know at least two weeks prior to the event and we will be pleased to assist you.Ā Photos will be taken at this event, but there is an option to opt out on the day.
