Guarding Governance®:

Guarding Governance® is a professional development workshop designed to assist Executives and Directors in developing their capacity building skills to support effective governance practices, with a particular focus on Indigenous governance systems.

We will explain the principles of good governance and teach you diverse communication styles, and you will acquire skills to incorporate a cultural perspective into your management approach. This workshop will focus on improving your ability to make strong decisions so that you can lead better in your organisation.

Our Governance training has already been successfully applied to a range of industries and agencies, including; information technology, construction, communication, design, museum & gallery, science, research, arts and education. We've trained Aboriginal Corporations, Land Councils and private companies.

Your Guarding Governance® co-presenters will be:

Emma Fitch has expertise in water, legal policy, legislative development and governance with federal, state and local governments and not-for-profits. Her areas of specialty include First Nations rights, natural resource management, environmental law, water law and policy, law enforcement, family violence and the community sector. Emma is passionate about supporting First Nations people and organisations to achieve their goals.

Neane Carter is a Solicitor at TJC and a proud Djaara, Yorta Yorta, Wamba Wamba, Wergaia, Wotjobaluk woman from northern and central Victoria. She has experience in governance trainings, constitution drafting and amendments, amending the charitable status of organisations, and matters relating to Indigenous business governance.
