Guide Dogs Victoria - Children's Services Information Session
Event description
Showcasing Children Service’s at Guide Dogs Victoria
Join us for an informative afternoon with Guide Dogs Victoria’s Children's Services!
Whether you're a Health Professional, parent, carer or teacher this event is the perfect opportunity to learn about the vital services we offer to children with low vision or blindness.
The afternoon will begin with an informative presentation by Alicia San Martin, Clinical Lead Children’s Services, about the latest Orientation and Mobility (O&M) assessment and intervention strategies for children with Cortical/Cerebral Visual impairment (CVI). CVI is now the most common form of vision impairment in children in the western world and the interventions can be very different to those for ocular based vision conditions. We’ll also explore the impact of Orientation and Mobility and Occupational Therapy for children, and highlight the benefits of our specialised children's camps.
You will have an opportunity to meet our dedicated Early Childhood staff and tour our residential facility to see firsthand the supportive environment we provide. Don't miss this chance to connect with our team and discover resources to support children’s development and independence. We look forward to welcoming you!
Please RSVP by the 28th of February
