Guided Nature Walk at Garvey Park

Feathers, fur and scales, Garvey Park is home to it all! September is Biodiversity month and we are showcasing the abundance of native flora and fauna that are unique to this part of the world, right here in Garvey Park.

If you would like to know more about the diverse range of plants and animals that live in this thriving urban park, join the Environment team as they take you through a guided nature walk through the park.

Look out for snake necked turtles, black cockatoos, pardalotes, wrens, and evidence of quendas.

The Environment team will also take you through projects they have been completing at the park to help increase biodiversity and ecological connectivity, and provide tips on how you can create wildlife friendly gardens.

This event is free, but registration is essential.

Helpful information:

• This event is for adults and children age 6+. Children under the age of 16 years need to be supervised by a parent/guardian.

• The nature walk will take you through wetlands areas, so please wear enclosed shoes and long pants.

• Please bring water, a hat and sunscreen and wear comfortable clothes for walking.

• Please do not attend if you are unwell.

• Please cancel your registration if you can no longer make it so someone else can have the opportunity to attend.

• Registration for this event includes consent that photos of you may be taken and published. Please let the team know if you do not consent to photos or videos.
