Guru Purnima ~ Honoring the Wisdom of the Yogis

Celebrate Guru Purnima at Sat Manav Yoga Ashram!

Gurus are dispellers of darkness—the essence of wisdom and enlightenment, eternally willing to help us through confusion and guide us toward the light of reality.

Guru Purnima is a sacred time to honor the wisdom of the Guru and pay homage to the timeless teachings that carry us forward. At Sat Manav Yoga Ashram, we also celebrate the birth of our own Guru, Baba, whose birthday falls just before Guru Purnima, on July 6th—making this celebration all the more personal, potent, and profound.

The traditional observance in India falls on Thursday, July 10th, and we'll be extending the celebration across four meaningful days. On both Thursday and Friday, we invite you to join us for deeply rewarding seva—clearing and renewing the sacred Pradakshina trails that wind through the Ashram’s land. These are the very trails where our Gurus walk, where we walk, and where the public is welcomed. It is a living expression of what it means to give to the Guru: in honoring, we receive.

Then on Saturday—the heart of the weekend—the festivities move into full swing.

Join us for a day (or days) filled with transformative intensives, enlightening discourse, sacred ceremonies, nourishing cuisine, and uplifting live music. We’ll continue the celebration into Sunday with more opportunities for reflection, connection, and shared experience—deepening our understanding of what it means to live as a true human being.
