About the session:
Experience the empowerment of understanding how to style your hair in a gender-affirming way! Whether you're exploring a new style or embracing your true self, Jess will provide supportive and affirming advice tailored to your needs. This workshop will provide practical tools and tips to help you understand how to style/ cut your hair in a way that feels right for you.
About the facilitator:
Jess has been practicing hairdressing professionally since lockdown as a switch up from using art as a medium to help audiences see themselves, now using fashion and styling to achieve the same result. Jess gets great joy from helping facilitate people to realise themselves and see the person who's always existed in their mind's eye finally reflected in the mirror.
Jess' early career was in theatre and film production, a highlight being touring their solo cabaret Gender Spanner to fringe festivals worldwide. Their drag king persona Jezza Bellend brings masculine femininity to the forefront, exploring a true blend of gender to the absolute extreme.
