Join us for two inspiring Sundays - January 12 & 19, 2025 - as we immerse ourselves in the Te Tiriti o Waitangi Haka composed by the esteemed Ngapo Wehi.
From 9:30 am to 1:30 pm at the Hoppers Crossing Youth Resource Centre, we’ll connect through haka, kōrero, and the shared vision of supporting the Toitū Te Tiriti movement.
These workshops are all about learning the words and actions behind this significant haka - whether you’re completely new or already comfortable with haka, you’ll be in great company.
By the end of our two days together, you’ll be ready - if you choose to - to stand proudly at the Waitangi Day hikoi and Waitangi Day Festival to perform this haka.
We hope to nurture your passion for culture, empower our Māori community in Melbourne, and inspire meaningful connections that last beyond these workshops.
Because spaces are limited at the venue, we have a $5 entry fee, that not only helps us cover the venue hire cost, but also confirms your spot.
If spaces fill up, a waitlist will be available.
