Description

Give your scrap paper, junk mail, old letters, and school papers a second life. In this hands-on workshop. You'll learn the art of papermaking... transforming everyday paper waste into something wholly unique.

You'll get an introduction to the simple tools of the craft, walk through the papermaking process step by step, and explore how each batch of paper can be customized through color, texture, and floral or herbal infusions. Prepare to get a little messy as you pulp, pour, and press your own sheets to take home at the end of the evening.

Part science, part art, and entirely sustainable: this is a relaxed evening spent learning a centuries-old practice with a distinctly personal twist.

No experience necessary. All materials provided.

FAQs

  • Do I need any experience to take this class?

Not at all! This workshop is beginner-friendly — all techniques and tools will be demonstrated and explained as we go.

  • What should I wear?

Wear clothes you don't mind getting a little wet or messy. Papermaking involves water, pulp, and pigment, so aprons are recommended (and may be provided — check with your instructor).

  • What materials will I be working with?

You'll use recycled materials like scrap paper, junk mail, old letters, and school papers as the base pulp, plus optional additions like dried flowers, herbs, and natural pigments for customization.

  • Will I get to take my paper home?

Yes! Each participant will make their own sheets of paper to take home at the end of the workshop. Please note handmade paper needs time to fully dry, so you may take it home slightly damp with drying instructions.

  • Do I need to bring anything?

Just yourself and a willingness to get a little messy! All tools and materials are provided.
