Event description

Overview
As part of the LisAmore! festival celebration, we’re proud to present a hands-on cooking class led by Sabrina and Daniele from La Romana in Ballina. This workshop invites participants of all skill levels to discover the joy of creating two beloved Italian classics from scratch: pillowy gnocchi and the sweet, soft maritozzo.

Sabrina and Daniele were born and raised in Rome, where they spent the first 30 years of their lives immersed in the richness of Italian culture—especially the culinary traditions of Roman cuisine. Over the years, they’ve had the privilege of learning from renowned Italian chefs and pastry chefs, deepening their love and expertise in the kitchen. They are proud to share their passion and knowledge with the Northern Rivers community, bringing a taste of Italian regional cuisine to your table.

What to Expect
In a relaxed, friendly setting at the Lismore Showgrounds, Sabrina and Daniele will guide attendees step-by-step through traditional preparation methods. From mixing and shaping dough to understanding textures and timing, participants will gain confidence and leave with the skills to recreate these dishes at home.

Inclusions

· Expert instruction by professional Italian cooks

· All ingredients and equipment supplied

· A light shared lunch including your handmade gnocchi and maritozzo

· A fun, culturally rich experience as part of LisAmore!’s pre-festival programming

Outcomes
Participants will walk away with a deeper appreciation for Italian culinary traditions and a newfound confidence in their kitchen skills. The workshop also provides an opportunity to connect with others over a shared love of food, culture, and learning.
