Hands on History: Print Making with Art Jam
Event description
For adults and young people 16+
In Celebration of Library Lovers' Day this week, join Art Jam at the Library to learn about the history of screen printing, a technique used by artists such as Andy Warhol. You will get the opportunity to screen-print your own items (or the one, provided blank canvas tote bag) using our pre-made 'Riso' stencils in this hands-on history workshop.
About Art Jam:
Art Jam WA is a social enterprise providing Art Workshops to improve wellbeing and social connection in our communities.
Screen Printing:
Screen printing is a technique for reproducing art works on paper and fabric. Using a silk mesh ‘screen’ stretched over a frame, paint is pushed through the fine mesh over a stencil, creating a print that is smooth and even.
Please note:
- Do not attend if unwell
- If you cannot make it to the event, we strongly encourage you to cancel your ticket to ensure your spot is allocated to someone on the waitlist
- We are working with fabric paint so wear clothes that can be stained. You are welcome to bring plain fabric items to print onto, and tote bags will be provided
